In my attempt to have a mindful summer and do more mindful activities, I accepted an invitation from a friend to try a new yoga class.  I had tried yoga in the past and have wanted to find a class that would be more relaxation and less “power sweating” like some of the classes I started with.  Well, I found it!

The class I took was led by Mari Irwin, the owner of Soul Candy Project.  The backdrop was Hotel Henry in downtown Buffalo.  Everything about this class was perfect.  Mari offers classes at the beautiful Hotel Henry every Tuesday and Wednesday in July and in other locations all over WNY.  The class meets outside next to a beautiful garden and focuses on the beautiful towers of this hotel.  The class starts with a sample of an essential oil provided by Mari and some great warm up and relaxation.  It is the perfect mix of good workout and stretching with a sampling of mindfulness mixed in.  It is exactly what I have been looking for in a yoga class.  When class is done, you are invited to stroll around Hotel Henry and have a complimentary cup of coffee.  It just does not get any better!

I have often felt intimidated by entering yoga studios.  There is the worry that I might not have the right gear, clothes, or ability to touch my toes!  There was nothing intimidating about this class at all.  I left feeling like I had gotten a great workout and was so relaxed and energized for the day.

In addition, Mari travels all over WNY teaching a variety of classes from relaxation to chair yoga and beyond.  She will even come to your house to do a group session!  I could not wait to book her for some backyard yoga for my friends and I.  Whether you are an experienced yogi or new to it, you will love her and her class.  You can learn more about her classes and schedules by visiting her website or follow her on instagram or facebook!
